Ed Sheeran- The A Team.
This song is about a prostitute who gets beaten up, and takes drugs and ends up passing away. But those lines: 'The worst things in life come free to us.' - The violence she's getting is free and it's sort of ironic because she gets paid for being a prostitute. Shows the audience that we have it easy, making comparisons. 'And we're just all under the other hand' - Also a symbol for violence and neglect. The fact that she's among us and how we are supposed to all live the same even though we are all different. She's overpowered by everyone around her. 'Go mad for a couple grams'- This is about drugs, the fact she doesn't have much of a meaning in her life so she will take drugs to make herself feel better.
I like the way it looks more realistic then other music videos and that it tells us a story about the women character. I like the black and white and the way the shots are steady.
Ed Sheeran- You need me, I don't need you.
I like the beginning where there is a fade in, fade out of the artist(Ed Sheeran) I also like the close up shots of all the hands on the guitar and the hands of a character who performs sign language. Even though the scene is somewhat different compared to his first official music video A team the music video as a whole is effective.
